Sunday is made from 100% merino and is the ideal base yarn: a fine, untreated superwash yarn that can be knitted with single and double strands.
Merino wool is not only insulating, but it also wicks moisture away from the body and retains warmth even when damp, thanks to the structure of the fibers. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it starts to get wet.
This wool is guaranteed not to come from sheep that have undergone mulesing.
For machine washing, we recommend washing all wool garments separately on a wool cycle to ensure the gentlest possible treatment. Due to the unique absorbency of merino wool, it is important to wring out hand-knitted garments thoroughly before drying them on a flat surface, preferably on a towel. Never use a laundry bag to wash hand-knitted wool garments. This creates friction that can cause the garment to felt.
